Shot reverse shot

Shot reverse shot - where one character is shown looking at another character, and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character, as shown in the example to the left.



The diagram to the left shows how shot reverse shot is filmed.

Shot reverse shot is used to portray characters conversation. It can also often be used using the over the shoulder shot as shown in the example below.
